X-Tech,
Misunderstood on the year models. Just read some odd info, to save weight. Several of the 62' 3-speed cars had the steel bell-housing switched out to an aluminum one. Could that be a dealer/factory item for 62', or just crazy info. Paul |

Im not sure about the bell-housing deal you mentioned. When these cars were new there was only one stick car around where I lived and he changed to an automatic after a couple of months. The torqueflite combos were killing him with his T-85 3 speed. Even the 409's and 406 Fords could usually beat him. The old Caslers and atlas Bucrons were pretty poor tires and there was zero track prep except for using a broom on the starting line.
