Doesn't make any difference.

If NHRA says both engines are eligble in '98, that how it be.

You can only race LT-1 in '98 model no LS-1 motor may race in '98 trim..

That is something I surely did not know..........Never did see a factory '98 LT-1 on the street, but were a bunch of '98 LS-1 cars around here...Know after the LS-1 '98 cars, there were numerous computer/wire harness and other changes on the LS-1 come '99 model yr. Thanks, Bob. WJ
