My strap is mounted on the top of my back, even with them tight I can still lean a great deal.

Coming from someone who has been in a crash, you want to make sure your belts are as tight as you can stand it. If I were you I would look at mounting my belts differently. If you can lean forward the belts are not doing their job!

If you can lean forward with the belts on they will probably break your back in a crash.
