It appears that he forgot to put on his giant braced lightened wheelie bars. Nice air shot though to go along with his attitude.

What was the part that seemed to come off of the car?
It was on the right side. That had to be a hairy ride! Ouch!!! |

I believe Ralph mentioned in another thread that it was the head lights. It looks like the left one stayed on the car, but fell out also.

Ken said in his race report in the other thread that Ralph told him the damage was limited to the headlights. That looked like a headlight ring that came off of the passenger side.

Wow, what a ride.. right slick off the ground, too
You can really see it in the slow mo... Glad to see The headlight didn't shatter when it hit the track. That is why I put the plastic headlights in my car.... as well as a few pounds off the front.

Yep. they are GE replacements.. Can't tell them apart from glass. available at your friendly parts store if you know what to look for. Work just like glass and are legal replacements. Some are even avaliable as halogen hi beams. I put the plastic hi beams in my Toter so I could see better on Hi...
What? You don't believe in being safe? I ran 3 dragstrips for quite a few years and you wouldn't believe the number of broken head lamps I've seen at the tracks. In the pits and pieces on the return road and an ocassional piece of glass or two on the track. Doesn't seeing a headlight falling out and bouncing on the track bother you. What if it ended up in your lane and under one or your slicks. Bet it would get your attention then... OH! the weight difference might be 4 of 5 ounces apiece :~)

Just found one of the low beam boxes. The number is GE HP4656
I think all the Hi beam boxes are in the landfill. I would assume you could use 4 low beams since you don't race with headlights in the "ON" position....
