With my luck, by the time I get my car ready, the S/SS combo meets will be dying out. That's been my luck with hobbies, by the time I'm ready to play, the playgrounds are closing up. I do have regrets since trying to get back into racing, wish we hadn't quit 20 years ago. Life takes different turns for all of us. If I had my car ready, it'd be coming to the meets, running under the index or not. Until a car gets sorted out, EVERY pass is a practice pass. Besides everyone loves a first round gimmee, don't they?

I can relate to what you are saying ! The T-Bird in my avatar was bought in 1999 with the intention of running it in Stock . For years I worked on that car making it NHRA legal, but eventually put a big block in it. Now, in order for me to run the combo races at Beech Bend I'll have to put a turbo 4 cylinder in it to make it NHRA legal. Oh well.........back to the drawing board ![]()
