Our Buick club used to run some races there in conjunction with their bracket/test days long ago. Heard we were told they didn't want (need?) us anymore. Good luck but we can't even get cars to the IHRA race in Byron for way, way, way more money... |

Many will race if the track will hook and NHRA rules are followed. Its 300 miles for me and I would race. It could easily be 40 to 50 cars on any given nite. Scheduling should be done around any local (200 miles radius) Stock /Superstock program currently being offered.

I won't speak for anyone else, but a 502 in a Vega is not Stock. A 502 Vega is a Street car or a good bracket car. That just me. The people that race these cars are usually good racers, they just don't have what I call a Stocker. I am not a fan of alphabet Superstock.
"Paper Cars" IHRA or NHRA I'm just not a fan. |

Just hope they don't stick you in with a bracket race like they did S/C last week. It was a circus for sure.

Sorry to hear that you wouldn't come if he put it together and included IHRA cars. As to paper cars, betting nearly all fast classed cars (and many slow classed ones) have phantom parts. We used to race an original car and had to purchase a larger cfm carb and a non production aluminum intake manifold to replace the cast iron one because someone got parts which were never on the production vehicles made legal. If he gets it together, come on up, you'll be able to enjoy yourselves racing and maybe have a cookout. |

Bobby, I never said I would not race. If they allow IHRA cars so be it. My job is to beat everybody no matter what type of car they use! What we don't need is to have two cars in same class and one techs in as an IHRA car and the other as an NHRA car to avoid a heads up run.
If its Combo it must have Heads Up runs. Last edited by Larry Hill; 08-13-2010 at 11:29 AM. |
