Probably not. Can't run my SS engine due to the Bowtie block. I would have to find time to get my 383" cleaned up and back together and change rear end gears. Not enough hours in a day anymore. I may be having surgery on my right arm & shoulder about then which will bring everything to a halt for a while.
You just need to go win it again.

I read somewhere that Yenko built 7 or 9 69 Novas with a 427 in them...but someone was killed in one somewhere in Va. on the way to being delivered. Are the Swiss Cheese Catalinas in the guide? (i've never looked)

The Canadian Pontiac "7000" Series that I work on. Strato Chief, Laurentian, Parisienne full size cars, are COMPLETELY Chevrolet in specifications, with the very same engine options ( actually 62 and earlier, there were no 4 speeds, no 300HP 327, and no high comp/solid lifter 348's ).
These cars are not in the guide. However, in 1981, as a 21 year old kid, I made an amateur attempt at a Stocker, with a 63 Parisienne hardtop, 300HP 327 4 speed. I contacted NHRA Div 6 tech ( Tom Compton ? ), to see if it would be accepted. They got back to me and said yes, the car is all Chevrolet. Ran within a 10th of the index, on a set of L60 15 "Road Huggers".

I read in another post someplace that 289/271hp Falcons were sold in Canada....these cars were not available in the US for some reason. Does anyone know why Ford didn't build this combo for the US? Seems like a great combo.

Jim,
I think it was (8) 1965 Falcon 2-door sedans. Not "K"-Code, but Code #992 Special Order 289/271HP cars. Classed for B/S. Came with 4.57 gears. Did any 1965 Mercury Cyclones come through with 289/271HP engines. It's in the guide, but were they really made? 1964 289/271HP cars were produced, but 1965's? pc |
