Speaking of IHRA Pure Stock, (of which I want to run)... I see where the rulebook says you have to have the stock trans for yr. and h.p. claimed.
The way I understand the wording is that the automatic is restricted to a shift kit and convertor only.

However, the wording on the manual trans does not list any internal restrictions. Does that mean I could run a fully race prepped T-5 in my 95 Mustang GT ...as long as the outside of the trans appears stock for my 95 ?

Just curious...not that a 14 sec. car needs a full tilt T-5

Thinking of running my 1993 mustang in crate motor. What class would the 340 hp 302 be in, or the 450 hp 347. Thanks Bob

per the NHRA classification guide, the shipping weight of your car is 2968#.

for the 347/450, IHRA rates it at 430HP.

2968/430 = 6.90 lb/hp. which makes it a B/CM (6.5-6.99 lb/hp)
your race weight for B is 6.5x430+170( for driver) = 2965#
you could run A/CM or C/CM by subtracting or adding 215#. I doubt you could get it light enough to run A though.

I am not sure how much IHRA rates the 340HP 302.
assuming it is 340, 2968/340 = 8.72 which is F/CM (8.5-8.99) it may only be rated at 320 though. I don't have my lates drag review with me.

You can see the rulebook, class indexes, etc. on IHRA.com
