Last night I got a talking to from my father... I am picking up a new chassis tonight/tomorrow and completely expect to build this car over the next few days from some spare parts I have... Im not even going to use my fresh shortblock I have on the stand cause I cant afford stuff to finish it..

At any rate he said.. Son I know you know what your set up can run, but do you really think you shoud build a car in a couple days, go pass tech get your grading point, some how miraculously get in Indy if there are withdrawals, and go race the best of the best and achieve the best of the best.. When you havent even made a pass on a track since 08? I said dad, you have not said anything to detour me yet lol.. That all makes me want to do it more!

Thats good news John. Lots of us on this board have been affected by there own or others cancers. My mother is about at her 4 year cancer free mark after beind diagnosed with a stage 3 stomach cancer at 44. She was given a 40% 5 year survival rate. So we are getting a little bit ansy haha. I guess they say if you make it 5 years your chances of beating it for good are a lot higher... She hasnt been to the dragstrip since she was married to my dad 30 years ago. She has pretty much hated everything about it until recently. I think she is finally at a phase where she just wants me to be happy, so she wants to go to the track with me now.. Whether I make it too Indy or not I think I may take her just so she can see what its all about.


On that topic.. I have to work today, but I hope to have the trans done this evening. Id say its almost a definite that the car will be ready to take to BG, but I dont have the best cams (yes plural) and a few other things in there. So I may go to BG for the grade point, but if its not as fast as Id like im not going to waste the time and money on Indy if I can get in after someone withdrawals.
