Well, to be fair he didn't say you could take one straight from the dealer to the track and win. He said they are produced with all the race equipment. Which car do you think would take less work to get into the 9s in Stock Eliminator: A bone stock 69 Camaro or a DP? -Toby |

Well, for what it's worth, I think with the exception of a couple of things, this article was Dead On! Thanks Jok. Jim

It was a great article and the little points that are being attacked are by the people that support these cars and once again you were DEAD ON, this needs to change soon the AHFS will not correct this in the next ten years. How is it that when a new model comes out like the 2010 CJ it recieved a lower HP rating that the under rated 2008 that had one 3.25 hit alreadyl. don't these two share the same engine?

Thanks Jok for writing an article that explains the problem many of us have with the new CJ's and DP's. Most of us are only asking for them to be placed in a seperate class until the HP numbers are nearer to the established combos. NHRA did the right thing when the LT1's, LS1's, etc. were dominating many stock classes. Let's hope it happens in this case also.

I guess the last thing needed is more classes, but perhaps cars that are not naturally aspirated should be in another group of classes in both Stock and Super Stock. I may have missed it but I have not seen this suggested. Might be easier than FX
Those blown Fords have always been a problem. How many remember Parham and Payne? :-) However they probably did have to work harder to get where they were. Bill |
