What several racers seem to forget is it was the racing series like the NMRA, NMCA, and World Ford Events held in St Louis that brought about the need for new chassis certs. I dont quite understand a 280-290" Comp Eliminator car or SS/GT car at 2900-3100lbs needing 33x16" slicks, when a SBF with a Turbo and 2000HP can do it on true 10.5's

Hey, Yankee, doesn't matter what kind of car it is.

For your information, I sat on the SFI committee that made these specs. Had nothing to do with NMCA etc.
At the time it had more to do with fast NHRA and IHRA modified cars and a need for a spec. In fact my personal Grand Am was used for ideas to write the 25-5 spec.

The point is, these cars are way too fast for a regular cage and should not be running this fast without the correct spec chassis.

The rules are specific and this shouldn't have happened.

I watch those some. A lot of them can't make to to the finish line 3 out of 5 passes.

And a lot of them are either slammed into the guard rail or on the roof. Sometimes both.

Amazing car. Alot of us saw the car in Brainerd and knew Randy was working on getting the car to 60ft with a "powerglide 1.80". Looked ar his timeslip and watched the run...1.22 60ft and out and back in the groove...159mph on the chip for awhile. Most figured 8.39 at 160 plus. Factory stuff.

GEEE WIZZZ, now some of you super stock guys can start to feel the pain that the stocker guys have been feelin lately, and don't just think this is only going to affect SS/AA, there are some other combo's that can fit nicely in some of the slower classes too. When these new cars hit stock some were saying well it doesn't affect me it only affects AA and A, well guess again!!!!

A 1.22 60 ft.? Holy crap! I might need to re-think going to a PG,err, C2, or was that a C3PO?
