It's not the car it's the driver. There is always a chance, it's what you call luck.

Yea, right. How many races you gonna win when the guy has you covered by 5 tenths or more. Larry's car is not exactly slow, I've seen him go low 10 teens in A which is pretty decent.

Larry,
Like you and many others, we are faced with the same situation. We have to, however, believe that NHRA is not only aware of this dilemma, but also actively working on changes for the 2011 season. Comments on this site have helped to raise awareness and facilitate the upcoming changes. However, at this point, we need to be patient and await whatever changes are coming. At that point, each of us can assess the impact those changes will have on our individual combinations. It is important that we collectively try to move in a positive direction. It is best for us as individuals and our sport as a whole.

Sites like this allow free expression of many different views, but I am saddened to see the personal attacks on you and others, rather than addressing the actual issue. This has a tendency to reduce our effectiveness, as a group, with those (like NHRA) who monitor this site. Just remember the immortal words of John Wayne -- "A big mouth don't make a big man".

Geeze, did you have to be so reasonable? Great post and I felt it needed repeating.

Greg if you think you can't you won't. But if you think you can you will. The mind is a powerful tool. Anything can happen at any given moment.

Dottie the power of positive thinking is great but when someone has 100 more hp and less weight they are going to win 99.9% of the time.

I tried that " Positive Thinking". I knew it wouldn't work, and it didn't.
