All round tube chassis from firewall back. Pro style chassis designed and built by Atkinson Race Cars. Car was built in 2007 and built to conform to Nostalgia Pro Street rules. Attentive detail was given to maintain factory firewall and floor during construction. Entire floor was taken out and then reinstalled with steel and factory tunnel on top of the SFI 25.5 all round tube floor structure. Much detail and time was given to massage firewall to accommodate shoehorning the BBC into the engine compartment while utilizing a front mid motor plate that was tied into chassis in multiple locations. All body work was performed by State of the Art Body and Paint of Lincoln NE. Firewall and hood had many hours in reconstruction and fabrication to maintain the original factory look to the hood under structure and firewall shape. PPG paint components were utilized in the entire paint process. PERFORMANCE Consistently runs 5.06 to 5.10 in 1/8 mile at 139 to 141 MPH 60 foots are typically 1.16 to 1.20 depending on track conditions. Class we run car in is 1/8 mile, car should run upper 7.80’s to 7.90’s in ¼ mile Current nitrous tune is 300 Hp Nitrous Jets, we have not leaned on it any harder. GENERAL INFORMATION Ran car last 3 years at Street Machine Nationals and our local 1/8 mile track. Only adjustments are shock settings, car has never required any extensive 4 link tuning. An experienced driver can jump right in an run 5.0’s with this car, very easy to drive. Car has around 65 passes on it total. Car has never broken attributed to parts used and strict maintenance. Very little changes are required for weather and track conditions, typically all we have adjusted is tire pressure and wheelie bar height, the car works. Engine just freshened, has 26 passes on it now. Transmission just freshened, has 6 passes on it now. RACE CLASS USE Car was built to conform to Nostalgia and Pro Street Heads up racing use with required stock style front suspension and stock body styles. Car could be used for a wide variety of classes including NHRA super class, certain drag radial classes, Drag Week, bracket racing and other heads up racing. CHASSIS Jerry Bickel style all round tube chassis from firewall back. .120 wall DOM mild steel tubing. Entire chassis tig welded. Car is extremely square and well built as indicated on driveability. Meets SFI 25.5 specs for 7.49 to 8.49 ET. Funny car cage. Jerry Bickel 4-link brackets. Jerry Bickel 1-3/8” 4130 4-link bars. 4130 Aurora Rod Ends. Jerry Bickel 4 link bolts. Jerry Bickel 4130 wheelie bars. ¼” Midplate mounted on top and side triangulated tied with tubing to chassis. Front Plate. NHRA certified chassis to 7.49 Feb 2010, expires Feb 2012. REAR SUSPENSION Fabricated 9” Ford Sheetmetal backbraced rearend housing. Moser center section with spool and bearing support. 4.11 rear gears Strange 35 spline axles with 11/16” drive studs.
