Jim, I'm glad he talked to you for two hours. That really doesn't make up for the fact that he was not out there meeting the rest of the racers. I must have seen Jay a couple dozen times, I may have seen Rich once. I suppose that means I learned more about his job than Rich did.

Sorry, but he should have spent at least as much time meeting the rest of the racers as he did ANYTHING else. You'd think a new division director who had a current division director running the show for him would have really gone out and hustled to meet his racers.

I sure hope what he learned about track prep was what NOT to do.

I talked to about 1/2 a dozen or so people who met him. So far, you are the only one who seems to be at all impressed.

He's a promoter? A promoter should be out there meeting people he's supposed to be promoting, especially his paying customers, the racers who actually paid to get in the gate.

Our junk is tired, we likely won't make it to the Open. This was the last regular race of the season. There's a ton of people who won't be at the Open. Many who were there at Reynolds.

Alan, I can't tell you what Rich did all weekend but I do know when I went up to get my check Sunday afternoon he was very sun burned, so he must not have been hiding under a desk somewhere. You guys are brutal! Give the guy a chance! Would you rather have Holt back? Jim

Brutal? Seriously?

From what we saw and heard, he was in the alcohol pits, the comp pits, and the top sportsman pits. What about everyone else? Alcohol doesn't even come close to paying the bills. What about the people who do?

There were 5 qualifying sessions for Stock. And 56 cars. If he came out for 20 minutes each session, he wouldn't have been out for two hours. A couple minutes meeting each Stock racer. Just an example from one class that pays an entry fee.

He's had his first chance, and most were not impressed. Many won't be there for the Open. So there's no second chance for them there.

You don't get but one chance to make a good first impression. He missed it. People I know who would do a good job would have been out meeting people during the racing, and out in the pits after it stopped, the sportsman pits are as friendly as any place you'll find. He'd have been welcomed in at least 90% of the pits. But he never showed up. Harry did. I saw others as well. You shouldn't have to look for your new division director, he should be looking for you. Especially in his first appearance at a race.

I have to agree with Alan, he should be out getting to know his "constituents". He should have been trying to make a good impression, even if it was just a "hi, how you doing? Glad you're here." Of course maybe he wanted to and Glendora told him not to associate with anyone incapable causing a 2 hr oildown.
