That was fun to watch, maybe a few more "news reporters" should be
given rides in stock eliminator drag cars in the future.

I've had numerous non-racing friends call me to say how much they enjoyed watching Mercer's day at the drags. Getting this kind of mainstream media exposure for our sport is really worth it's weight in gold. Having a Stocker as the choice for the ride-along vehicle is icing on the cake!
Seeing him squeezed into that Jr. Dragster was definitely an odd sight though! LOL |

That was great! There should be more reporters like him. "Oh look! Cows!". Jim

Dougie has been my best friend for 25 years, and he had a lot of fun with Mercer during the taping. Doug and his wife Robin were also invited to Toronto for the taping of the actual show that the segment aired in, and were called out during the show by Mercer, which made Doug and Robin feel quite special.
For those that didn't know, Mercer is apparently a switch-hitter -- so his excitement about running down the track with Dougie and his "big hammer" was a great gag. srm Last edited by Mackie Family Racing; 11-14-2010 at 06:21 PM. |
