Wow are dyno is 50 horse down from WJ's my 283 makes 350 easy and guarantee i would made Indy ..I thing Wade Owens makes way more than that maybe get your dyno calibrated..

I guess WJ needs to get his dyno calibrated too...lol It doesn't really matter what a motor makes on a dyno, its how fast it runs. Always use the same dyno when testing and try to improve on what you have. After all, its the improvements that make you faster.

dyno, racetrack, dyno, racetrack, dyno, etc, etc, ect,.....

thanks for yor imput guys...is the Carter Quadrajet of no use as race carb??

Until you know what the number means at the track, the number does not tell you much.

Well the guy was wanting horsepower numbers mine are real no use in arguing with you.A real dyno a 327 should make 420 I know Jims 283 pb make 370 .

My 283 shows a lot higher than that on the dyno we use. I bet Wade's shows lower numbers and it still eats my lunch in the hp department. Go figure.

The info you stated about using the same dyno is really true, and knowing what YOUR numbers mean on the time slip will always rule the day.

I've built a number of these motors and the one I just finished makes 415 w/ break-in oil. It will be going in a 67 Chevy II so when it's done maybe we can compare sheets & slips?
