B/SA DP Car

If Dempsey Pendarvis was trying to set the C/SA record? Wouldn'T they weight,seal motor & check gas after he ran under the record? You would think this would verify his run for the AFHS. Larry I`m with you. Tom

Sure seems like these DP cars are having a hard time with that C/SA record. How many attempts now? Looks like B, C, D, E, F/SA are still carbureted antiques from Detroit. What does this say about records?

It says the B-F/SA records that were set based on a calculator are so far out of wack that even the new DPs are having a hard time beating them. I see your record is a 10.24 but I look at the Nitro Joes stats over the past 2 years and see your best run is a 10.447. Have you ever put a .24 up on the board? How about a 10.3x?

Now were getting to the point! No I haven't run faster than a 10.44 and wouldn't dare run faster than I have to. Who needs the extra weight, or grief from the other racers running their combo. When we set the C/SA record we were walking on egg shells. It was like getting grounded for two weeks for mowing the lawn if we went too fast. How fast can we really go? Hell, we may never know! Where is the reward? Of course the feeling of accomplishment and maybe some respect from your peers, but really it is just a piece of paper as Charlie Wescot puts it (although suitable for framing).

With the new AHFS how is anybody going to set a record without getting slapped?

Performance should be rewarded, PERIOD!
