It's too bad IHRA doesn't have the financial means to pull a bunch of major tracks away from NHRA and give them real compitition.More now than ever NHRA will never be riper for plucking than they are now.
Someone mentioned that the addition of the two new board members are versed in the field of real estate and that possibly Compton is trying to deal the organization.Maybe someone with vision will buy it and breathe life back into it.

Maybe then I could afford to get my engine puffed up for next year. It's sitting in the garage in the dark, like a mushroom.

Every time I see pictures form the national event sportsmen pits it looks like a huge motorhome convention. I am sure that NHRA sees that and the people lining up to buy $100,000 stockers and figure the racers can afford a increase. Besides I would bet they have no problem filling the feild.

Sorry for all you working stiffs that try racing with NHRA.

This is very simple. If you are in this for the $$$$$$$$$$$$ You need to rethink this issue. I am not talking about the PRO Sportsman Racers [ you know who they are] I have no problem with them. They make a living racing. Hell I would love to but reality is that not happening. As they say in business it the "Cost of doing business". NHRA is providing a place to race either you want to race with them or you don't. 75 to 80% of "US" do not race to make a "PROFIT"[because we know we can't]. Yes it is nice to win some $$$$$$$$$$$ but most don't but we "BITCH" about it.. Why ??? We race for the fun and fellowship. Yes it's cost to have fun but what doesn't???????
IHRA also gives us places to race and they LOVE us to come and they say "THANKS". I have also been to NHRA tracks that tell you "THANKS" for coming. Ex. No Problem Race Track and Thunder Valley in Noble, OK. [may I throw in Div. 4] Thanks race track owners.

Do I like paying more $$$$$$$$$ no but It is what it is.. In case people don't know me. I carry 2 cars everywhere I go. Do I think I can double up??? Who know but what the hell I will pay my $$$$$ and try. The closes I came was "2" runner up's at an IHRA track. I had a blast.

Quit bitching about what racing cost and think about life. If you can't afford to go racing then don't. Life is short in each and everyone of us.

1st time down race track 1966 "OLD GATOR" in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Lfe is "SHORT" quit bitching

Please keep Ronnie and Sarah West in your prayers, Ronnie is fighting a life battle. I am glad that myself and my daughter met Ronnie and Sarah. Please keep them in your prayers

Does the same argument hold true if they make it $350? $400? How about $500? Can't put a price on a good time, right?

I didn't think the country club was Wally's dream.
