Bob I've been told by the higher up's that due to the price increase in entry fee that BK Race cars will only be able to pay .25 cents for every round you go in 2011 compared to the 1.00 that we used to pay....sorry times are tight!

My last IHRA race, Nitro Jam Edmonton 2008.
The advertised car entry in drag review was $150.00. At the front of the line $180.00
The advertised crew price in drag reveiw was $70. At the front of the line $95.00.
The only notice was 5 days previous on their website.
Round money $50.00 beginning 2nd round. Changed to $40.00 beginning 3rd round.
The excuse told to be by S.P. at Ihra was we needed more money what did you expect us to do? That race was their biggest. Most entries, and most spectators.
That is the IHRA way. I'd rather know up front.

I only attend one national event per year so the increase wont keep me from entering the Gators. Hopefully the divisionals will not increase too. Thats what hurts the average guy. The division 2 schedule is the real killer for us here in the south. thats 7 or 8 races in a row.I cant afford this schedule unless I get lucky and win some money. The schedule here in div 2 needs to be addressed by both N&IHRA. Car counts will suffer and the track owners will start to distance themselves from our races

Well that's the first time I've heard THAT story. I can't speak to the round money, but the entry fee + insurance surcharge in 2008 was $190. If you paid $180, you got a deal! There's been a difference at the Canadian events for at least a decade.

Since I've never heard of this before, and at least part of your story is demonstrably incorrect, I don't think it is fair to say "That is the IHRA way". I have NEVER been to an IHRA event where the entry fee or purse was changed, and it's fair to say I've been to a few...

I recall that a National event entry once included 2 crew passes......maybe 3

NHRA just keeps finding ways to get more $$$$ from it's members

There is no alternative in many areas and they know it. Without competition you get a monopoly and NHRA has one.....

IHRA had made some inroads around here once but faded. Atco was IHRA for a few years....

NHRA probably is a monopoly, but $35 more for a couple or races is not going to keep be away
