Jack, I had a brand new 69 big block SS Camaro when I was 18. That car was awesome. Dark green with dark green custom interior, dark green vinyl top. I traded it in 71 for a SS 454 Monte Carlo. I use to dream about that Camaro. I have no idea what happened to it. It's really cool that you got yours back.

I still have dreams about buying back my old '55 Hardtop, then, when I wake up remember that about 2 weeks after I sold it the guy flipped it and destroyed the car.
Glad your dreams came true! |

Jack: The 302 engines are fun, because you don't have to worry about RPMs especially on the street, the engine was built for 9k and you'll be lucky to get 7500 with stock valve springs even if you miss a gear. If anything, put a small roller cam in it so that you don't have to mess with solid lifters and camshafts going bad. (I guess with a roller, you might be able to get to 9k!) I've had nothing but 302's in my car since I've owned it, that's been a little while now.

Wish I could find my old 68 I raced in the late 70s. The teak steering wheel is worth more then I sold the whole car for. Toughest motor Ive ever seen.

Awesome, nothing like a 69 Camaro. The day I bought my 69 Z a guy stopped by and wanted to buy it right off the trailer. I also bought a 69 Super Stocker in N.C. a few years back, was on I-85 for about 2 minutes and an SUV ran up to the door of the dually. I figured there was a chain dragging or something, not the case. These young guys were going crazy over that dust covered 69 Camaro on our open trailer. I dont think their girlfriends got it though! I like all cars, but all my dad heard from the time I was 13 was 69 Camaro. I am very happy for you.

Wow, nice story. Like so many other Camaro fans, a '69 w/ RS package is my all time favorite car. Please keep us posted on its progression.
