S.E. was a dear friend and my racing "mentor" through the years. I treasured my relationship with him. Our speed shop sponsored him and we were proud of his accomplishments. He also was a supporter of us in the Racers for Christ ministry. He attended services every time he could. He was a true friend and I will miss him. I know that because of his faith in Christ that I will see him again someday! Our prayers, love and concern are for the family during this time. Friends in Christ, Steve and Annette Haynes and the Steve's Speed Shop friends.

God bless his family. I remember waiting in line for winner's circle pictures behind him at the 1978 Sportsnationals and when he won Indy a few years later
