There is actually a thread over on Speed Talk in the forums about these intakes. It's a pretty interesting thread, if you're interested in the manifolds.

There was one sitting on a shelf in the shop I used to wrok at. It was tried by a racer running C/SM at the time when the intake first came out. Results were poor and it ened up collecting dust...

The Chrysler one was called the "rat roaster" Edelbrock even put RR 1 (inline) and RR 2 (crossram). It only worked when you glued popsicle sticks inside. LOL
This is true. No joke.

AMC factory '69 SS/AMX used Edelbrock cross-ram STR-11. As I'm told, worked well when re-worked considerably inside to prevent puddling of fuel.
Art is correct, Chrysler and AMC racers used epoxy and pop sickle sticks. It was even outlined in the old Direct Connection manuals along with recommended staggered jetting.

Hi-I remember when it was released Smokey said it would be a damn good manifold but you were gonna have to work with it particularly with pump shot with the plenum like Dwight mentioned.

When I read the write-ups at the time , thought straight runners looked like good idea but had doubts about large plenum and also about mixture making a 180degree turn into runners . At time was using modified TR1-X and didn't have cash reserves to play with new ideas anyway . Thanks for much interesting info and answering sume questions I've had for years .
