Thank You,
RCE Machine is posting a low ET award for Stock and SuperStock. They are giving $100 to each class. These guys have to be some of the hardest working crew I have ever seen.

Terry Bell is supporting us by donating $100 to win and $50 to runner up. As most of you know Terry doesn't have a business to promote, he just thinks that this is a great idea and wants to put his support behind it. Thanks Terry, these are the things that make sportsman racing what it is and why we all love it.

No scales, No fuel check, No teardowns-------Too much faith in your fellow man.-----Hire Terry to weigh each round and tear down winner and runner up and I'll donate 250.00 towards paying him. ------- Put the new cars in FX where their supposed to be. Run same class cars heads up like it was meant to be. Don't pay for round wins just winner and runner up this gets rid of late round cheater bailers. That's how it was done in the 60's and 70's by racers with balls that started all this.

All of the Stock/Super Stock races I have ever attended didn't have fuel, scales, or heads-ups. That's prob because you would have to pay someone to weigh and someone to do fuel check. Usually, there is no heads-up races at Stock/ Super Stock races in order to hopefully increase car counts. Also, most people would not attend if there was no round money involved. Especially, anyone who would drive any distance to attend the event. Late round cheater bailers? I'm not sure what that is, but I'll take your word for it! This is going to be a great race! This is also supposed to be an informative thread to update everyone with changes to the event and event sponsors. Don't hijack it with your nonsense!

Dan, you organize your own race and make up your own rules! Let Lee and Brian handle this one. If you dont like their race, stay home!

Whoa Whoa, Slow down. Don't beat up an old man the NHRA has already done enough of that over the past 51 years of my addiction. Thank goodness for racers like Lee and Bryan trying to put together something for class racers to attend . I raced with Bryans dad in the 70s, a real gentleman and a tough competitor and the apple didn't fall from the tree. As for support I've rounded up five or six cars that have already committed with a few more on the fence depending on finances. I haven't raced for years but I'm coming and if Cupp's daughter will give birth early he and Bagley are coming with me. We tried to put on some races a few years back with a retired tech official but couldn't pull in enough cars. When we relaxed the tech what we got was basically bracket cars with class designations on the windows. The class cars quit coming and we dropped it. We need discipline or there will be no need for motors from Bryan or Bub just something out of a crate. Along with Terry I'll put up $100 to win and $50 to runner up.

Danny,
Thank you so much for the kind words. They are really appreciated. I really do understand your point about the tech and believe me, if Lee and I had our way we would do it like that. Unfortunately, in the short time that we are trying to pull this thing together, we just want to see how much support there is for a race like this. If we ever do anymore than I could definately foresee a much more stringent tech but we think at this time, people have had enough jerking around and just want to go out, race with some friends, and enjoy themselves with the possiblity of winning some money, getting treated with respect, and are appreciated for being great people and racers, not just a money tree. Thanks again for the kind words and I look forward to seeing you again, it has been quite a few years since we had our battles in K/SA. And thank your for the sponsorship as well.
Brian

Don't really think there's a bunch of bracket cars begging to get into a S/SS race these days anyway, and I can't see people running 100lbs light and running ERC for a Combo race that doesn't have heads-up runs or qualifying, so it's all kind of a moot point. That being said, it wouldn't bother me if they did have scales/fuel/heads-up runs.

Since IHRA cars are legal, and someone has already brought up what to do with the factory race cars, why not just use all of the IHRA classes (which have provisions for the new cars) and indexes (pre-2010 NHRA indexes)?
