I actually did go out and purchase one of the 2008 Cobra Jets but once I thought about how absurd the whole under factored crate motor bull**** was, I just threw a cover over it and shoved it in the corner. The car will make 900hp with stock camshafts so what is there to prove? What's new today will be old tomorrow with the stroke of a pen and different part numbers.

Underrated crate motor cars, no meaningful tear downs, and the AHFS are killing these eliminators yet some of you are in denial about what is really happening. Killer air in Bradenton and no one even tries to set a record? Might as well run Unleashed because that's exactly where this is going.
So true and yet so sad.I believe the fighting and whineing on here will help to the early demise. Thanks for shareing

Craig quit stretching the truth. Your 2008 motor will not make 900hp with stk cams. Your car makes around 650 stk. The SS cars I drive just barely make 900HP with a big blower and SS style cams. Also tell everyone how much work it is to make a 2008 CJ a True stocker. You did not want to modify your car from its original form. That is why you are not race it.

You mean like meet emission standards at one point in its life and licensed for the street? Then to go back an put it in Stock Eliminator trim....that would be a ton of work!

Craigs 69 427 @ 1 under is 25 times more impressive than a Blown mustang @ 2 under. Both cars are cool but I'd take the 69 hands down. I think no matter how fast a DP/Ford runs nobody really cares. Except on a heads up....

Hey Dgal, you really think a '69 Camaro would pass today's emissions?

The 2008 CJ was not a full blown race car like the 2010's. The 2008 had a ford factory stick shift trans, along with many other parts that needed to be changed before it could run like the two that were at U.S. Nationals this year.

Nope, but it did at the time it was produced. That is the point.

I am asking because I don't know for sure and cannot think of one until the admission of the Drag Paks and Cobra Jets by the NHRA into Stock Eliminator. Can you name any other combo, prior those two, that didn't meet emissions and licensing for the street at the time produced?
