It is a matter of how one defines "True Stocker." I understand that the only opinion that carries weight is the NHRA. It is my opinion that a "True Stocker" would meet the emission standards and be licensed for the street at the time the combo was released. The spirit of Stock Eliminator.

Anything less than that would be a Super Stocker (ala '68 Hemi Cuda/Darts).

Don the big problem here is everyone has their own idea as to what "stock" constitutes.
My idea was you use stock factory parts. I did that with my FWD stockers and nobody seemed to appreciate it.

Charley,

The 2008 FR500CJ needs the following to race which I have brand new on pallets:

1. Drag race struts and shocks. The rears are too short and the fronts are too stiff. I had a custom set of Konis built by Truechoice for the car. Would you like to buy them?

2. Racing transmission from Joel, same Factory supplier of the 2010 CJ. I have a new trans, bellhousing, ATI converter, Turbo Action shifter and all the other stuff one needs to race.

3. Factory roll bar finished into a cage

4. Radials

5. The 4:10 factory gear is plenty once a good program is loaded into the car.

6. The engine is basically the same as a 2010 with a little smaller throttle body and a little less blower and of course different part numbers. All the current National records are held by 2008 cars just in case you haven't looked lately.

7. The 900 hp is not accurate. It was actually 979hp on a certain Ford suppliers dyno. I have atmospheric street cars that make more than 650hp on pump gas. You may be a little low.

So you need about $7,500.00- $10,000.00 extra dollars to go 9.30's. That's not so bad is it?

Any other questions?

You're in denial and I'm not referring to the river in Egypt.

The '68 Hemi Cuda/Dart used stock factory parts, but they were Super Stock as they should have been. Not sure what you mean by "nobody seemed to appreciate it." It is my understanding that many here (me included) are quite impressed with what you have been able to accomplish with your combos.

I was in the other lane on the run. I was definately a head gasket. started blowing steam out of the headers at half track. Roy never lifted. water was all over the ground after the run on the return road. Must have pushed out a head gasket with the blower pressure. I ran 10.04 on that run and he left me like I was tied to a stump That is one baddddd boy.
