Bob Shaw's (#1 qualifier) times were 16.27,16.26, 16.23, 18.49 (single),16.23 (semi). Malfunctioning timers kept the elapsed times from being recorded in the final but the win lights clearly gave the decision to Shaw. Caisson (Y/SA) ran a 16.77 in the semi against Joe Swarz's (V/S) 16.08. On Monday, NHRA put 5hp on the 95hp Corvair moving it up to Y/S (24lbs).
