Ralph beat me to it. I also have one, but it was a gift from my wife. Would not part with mine either. Can you somehow use a dial indicator? That was my first thought, then scrolled down (iPhone) and saw Ralph's post. A bright guy like yourself can come up with a way to use a dial indicator. Think you'll like it.
