If there are still slots with a week to go I think they should allow cars with no grade points in. Just my opinion.

Change your name to Kurt Bush, then you can get in. He ran Super Gas in Gainesville last year and never went to a div race. They tried to say he was at the div race in Commerce last year and if he was I don't know how he was able to win the race at Atlanta motor speedway that weekend. I race div 2 and no one I know ever saw him at Commerce.

I just got my car back together and running, and I would go if they would let me in. I just won't to race.

With low car counts does anyone see why that points deal could not be dropped for the last week or so if the entries are that short? What could it hurt?

Ed, my guess is that it has to do with Administration, while we already see a lot of racers waiting to enter until the last moment, maybe that would get worse and they need the time to do all the paperwork with passes etc. It ain't like it used to be cause it's all in the 'puter these days. Something I thought of while looking at the entry stats, EVERY catagory is being contested here plus it's a 3 day event for a place that has a reputation of foul weather. If the fields were indeed full, how the heck would they get it all done??? Would that scare some from going?

The car counts are for sure a sign of economic troubles for alot of people. NHRA doesn't help with the increase of entry fees and along with back office services, such as licences and perminent numbers. The one thing that I can see NHRA doing to protect themself's from the having money troubles is to put a car count on the purses for the sportsman Eliminators. With the fan base dropping off, back office money, along with membership money can only go so far for the sportman ranks before NHRA pulls the plug on sportsman going to national events. National events will become pro events only, divisionals will be left for sportsman. Think "Monster Trucks" to kill time in between rounds of the pros.
