Yes the 2008 Mustang is still in Stock.

I spoke with Bruce Bachelder and he said currently there is no point where any car listed eligible for Stock would be banned due to factoring below the 7.50 wt break for AA. He did say that when one does reach 500 lbs needing to be added to make AA, NHRA may take another look at the rules.

While there are no current plans on the table to add 7.00 or lower classes to Stock, NHRA is looking at several options for the 2012 season as to what to do with the faster upper class Stockers. However he would not elaborate on the subject any further.

(Disclaimer: Opinions expressed by me on this forum are exactly that, my opinions. Right now my opinion is...looks like everyone needs to just enjoy the 2011 season as is. Do not quit racing all together because there may be changes for 2012. Again I say...there "may" be changes coming next year.)
