Here is the Peanut deal

In the early years of the Indy 500, they would line the cars up on the front stretch before the race started. A spectator walked up and pour peanut shells in front od the front row and said it was good Luck. On the first lap they crashed and one of them died. Every since Peanuts are TABOO at the track.
