I watched Ed Stokes race the old Skyline Texaco Modified Corvette for a long long time. Ed raced at my home track for decades.

Tim, your pictures of the car are fantastic. You can give everyone the real deal if u want to post a few more. The car turned out really well and its something that everyone needs to see in person. Its by far the nicest car I have ever had the privilege to be around and work on! Chuck, what's the history on the vette in your post? Dougs car is Jim Warters old Joint Venture modified production car.

Beautiful car .
But I am partial to red Corvettes! Accent stripe is just enough to set the car apart ,definately a Best Appearing candidate. Been a long time since I can remember anyone running a 6cyl in a early Vette.

Very nice. But then every thing Doug has had was very nice. I used to really enjoy when he would come up and test. I loved the roadster he used to run.

Testimony to S SS, beautiful show cars in action. If NHRA only knew the goldmine they had in the back forty.....

That is one beautiful Corvette. Having a NCRS plate on it is especially fitting; considering that the restoration crowd will go into cardiac arrest when they see it!
It's great to see an older body style built for a change instead of all the late model FWD conversion entries. I wish Doug nothing but success with his new ride, and agree that it is very deserving of a "Best Appearing" Wally, hopefully in the near future. |
