Each ET slip is a report card to gauge progress while working within defined rules.

Through the years, super stock has led drag racing in many different directions, thanks to technology and the racers’ own creativity, the factory experimental class grew out of super stock. As did funny car and pro stock, which has become one of drag racing’s all time favorite competitions. But those early 60s and 70's Dodges and Plymouths, Chevrolet, Pontiacs, Fords still hold a place in many peoples’ hearts. Today, even with all the changes in racing, or maybe because of them, the super stockers and stockers are just as popular as they ever were and thanks to some new technology, they’re even faster. I enjoy the family environement and of course the wheels up action. Too bad NHRA doesn't realize that the real show is the sportsmans class.

Claude you're sadly mistaken.Stockers and super stockers are the favorite pretty much of the over 40 to 50 crowd.Saturday and Sunday at Englishtown after the pros ran it looked like rats abandoning a sinking ship. When they finished Sat. nite at 10PM there were probably 200 people in the stands.I bailed Sunday before the finals and the stands were probably a bit more than 1/2 full. The rats were leaving in hoards at that point.
I've said it a million times before. We're not a car culture society anymore.Especially from a drag racing perspective. We race now mostly for ourselves, families and friends.
