Legal drag racing in down town Sioux City Iowa

On july 15th. thru the 17th. the city of Sioux City will allow Drag races in the heart of downtown. They have installed new asphalt on a side street which will be an 1/8 mile dragstrip with shutdown area, there will be car shows , car cruises, a swap meet etc.

I have talked to have concerns about safety but also hope it turns into something larger for the future.This year its only street legal mufflered cars, check out the rule book and other items on the web site
