1970/1971 LS-6 Intake Manifold
Chevrolet Part #3963569
Low-Riser Big Block Dual-Plane

Carburetor Holley 800 CFM (1 11/16" x 1 11/16")
Square bore carburetor mount / rectangular-shape intake port

The Low-Riser was required, to allow for proper hood clearance.
Intake was for both the Corvette and Chevelle SS454 LS-6 cars.

A side view would show the carb mounting pad being nearly lower than the tops of the runners.....

No body used that manifold, the 1970 rule book stated you could use another gm intake with a max + 1 inch and a 1inch spacer, they all used the highrise untill the rules went to aftermarket intakes.

Bob,,,,,,
Correct,,,,,,,,,,the #3963569 Low-Riser was the factory intake,
which nobody used in Super Stock for 1970.

but, many racers in 1970, used the 1969 #3933163
Aluminum Dual-Plane High-Riser, which was standard on
the 1969 396/375HP and 427/425HP engines,,,,,,

or an after-market
(ie; Edelbrock or Weiand or Offenhauser) Aluminum Dual-Plane High-riser.

The 396 and 427 intakes were later legal for A/SA as Kenny Koonce used one on his 1970 Chevelle LS-6 car in stock.

Why didnt anyone use the "474" highrise manifold back then? It even had an open plenum.
