I've raced Indy with only a 64 car field, there were 10 cars in F/S back then alone. I'm sure that they wouldn't miss out on any less entries, mater of fact, there may be more.

Ray Allen,,,,,,1957 Chevrolet Model #210 Beauville 9 Passenger Wagon,
'The Terrible Tangerine' 283/283HP,,,,,w/Fuel Injection, and a Muncie 4-speed,,,, K/Stock,,,,,,NHRA National Record Holder,,,E.T.,,,,, 13.14 In 1969, these 1957 Fuel Injected Chevy Wagons were a 'perfect' fit for K/S (12.50 - 12.99 wt/hp) My guess on why his Class Winner E.T. was so slow,,,,,,his opponent probably needed the 'holeshot of the century' to win. He got the'holeshot',,,,,but left on the 'first light', and 'red-lighted',,,,,,HEE HEE Last edited by Paul Ceasrine; 08-17-2011 at 03:56 PM. |

damn it would be fun to go back, but running off the records would take a few months to even out the new cars when they dropped thier records 2 seconds running heads up in class trying to get into the eliminator... YEEEHAA it would be too much fun... of course i'd be screwed too when bob shaw dropped my record 2 seconds

Sorry the post you refer to is for the Springnationals, I was looking for the Indy winners.
Thanks, Paul. My friend broke his engine in the first round of class (bent valve) against a racer with a broken trans. They were busy and could not remember who won. Last edited by 69z; 03-19-2013 at 12:53 PM. Reason: Add info |
