Why was Thursday racing canceled already? This forecast may change or may not even hit the track as is usual during weekly bracket races.

Another rumor, all racers and crew members will be refunded a day's worth of crew pass cost, $21.25 for no racing on Thursday. Maybe with a little luck we can get 1/4 of our entry fee back.. but that might be getting a little greedy.

Will spectators be given a discounted entry fee since the entire program won't be there on Friday? I already know the answer to that one....

1 - "entire program"? - I thought nitro was the entire show?
2 - "spectators"? - They are on the same low rung as the sportsman racers.

Etown gets my vote! pretty sure I prefer pavement over grass any day of the week wet or dry! the grass parking at MG SUX even when its dry!

As far as the racing goes, it would be tough to race as you are bringing cars in 15 at a time.

I for one am just amazed with the lack of communication from NHRA. I understand the circumstances and the unpredictability of weather. They can't tell us anything of certainty about tomorrow or after that but they do know that they are not doing ANYTHING today. And they have not said that anywhere. If not for this site and cell phones anyone who may have been coming today would know no different. Once again, NHRA's PR department doing a terrible job.

Email I just received from our D1 Sportsman Rep., Kent Hanley (Thanks for your work on this):

I just got word that if you do not show up to this race you will be granted an automatic transfer credit. You don't need to do anything Bob said he would take care of it with California. Bob told me he didn't want to inconvenience the racers any more than they all ready have been.


There is still no word as to the status of the race. As soon as I hear something I will let you know.

If this is true - Kudos to Bob Lang and the D-1 Leadership. Is there anyway to confirm this?

Angelo, it is true, what I posted is the exact email Kent sent to every D1 racer on his mailing list. If you are not on his mailing list, email him at d1srac.kenthanley@gmail.com and ask him to add you to the list and he will also confirm. I've been annoying him all day by email and he is always quick to respond.

He also confirmed to me that racers who entered this racing using a transfer from last years race can withdraw and still receive a transfer and that "Bob said he would take care of it".

Not rumors, facts straight from our D1 Rep.
