Live from Maple Grove Raceway - NHRA Auto Plus Nationals

Good morning - And welcome to day one of Part Two of the Auto Plus Nationals here at Maple Grove Raceway .In just under two hours we'll finally get our chance at going down the quarter mile and let me tell you folks - it will be fast - blinding fast as the weather here is just what the doctor ordered - just under fifty degrees -.27 vapor pressure - 29.79 barometer- there is some humidity but with the Sun shining it will burn off fast - and here it is ---- ta-da---- we're at ............... - 99' at this moment - it will climb some till we get on the track but it'll be fast just the same ..

I hear trucks rolling in this morning - hopefully a bunch because as of 5pm yesterday there were only 107 entries on the grounds - seems like racers waited to leave late to arrive here this morning and will trickle in all day .We should get our two shots in today and possibly a third .At any moment I expect to hear the Division One Jet firing up to dry the dew off the track - as you can see on the grass pics below there is plenty of it .

Stock and SS made their first pass already.

Temps when SS ran were 58 degrees, 29.94 baro and 60% hum.

Rich South went 9.62 in GT/FA (i think). -1.17
Angelo Ditocco went 9.67 in SS/IA. -1.02

Stock and SuperStock got their first hit - Stock was out first with 44 entries and Ron Infantino led the pack with a fine -1.10 run in his sharp looking '69 Camaro Z-10 . In S/S fifty came out this morning with Rich South at the top with a fine -1.18 run .

I'm told that along with S/S class eliminations we will get three qualifing passes today .

SuperComp and Super Gas on the track now with Stock to follow .

I will try to get more in car cams, but they are running us so fast its hard to get back to the lanes and set up it all up.

Not too familar with SS rules, but are air / electric shifters used in these cars and classes
