I agree with Unk, I don't think any rational person could fault the effort made by the people running things. Blame the weather man. LOL

Unk, having raced Div. 4 for many years. I am not suprised by the amount of brain work that was put into the decision. Craig has made many excellent decisions over the years. In my opinion I cannot remember (although I am sure someone will) his ever making a bad decision. I have always felt that his decisions were well thought out and considered what was best for all the racers. Good job, guys.

Noble update
Still scraping the track as of 1:20 today. Weather is sunny and 70's and there is a chance of showers tomorrow in the am. The pits are drying out and the red mud is tightening up. We should be good to go wednsday for test and tune and the weather looks good for thursday to finish the race. Its going to be a tough haul to Reynolds but thats what we racers do. |

Congrats to you all for sticking it out. I've announced many a race over the years but the first round matchup that you all had with the Dalrymple's (sp?) will certainly be one of the all time greats! Massachusetts vs Washington in the middle of Oklahoma..... it was too bad someone had to lose! Especially when you both had so traveled so far to accomplish the same thing. Unk

Well, we are finally here after a way too exciting trip down the scenic route. We arrived this afternoon after a little problem with the brakes on our motorhome. After numerous long 6% grades, the brakes got a little hot. There was so much smoke that 2 volunteer firemen stopped to help. Larry finally got them cooled off with water from the motorhome. Thank goodness we had just filled up this morning. Thanks to Mr. Young and the other gentleman that we didn't get his name. Also thanks to Al Corda who stopped to offer assistance. We ended up following him all the way to the track. By the time we got here, we were ready for a couple of adult beverages and to relax. We just got back from dinner with Mike and Paula Cotten, Al Corda and Mike Mingo. I took lots of pictures coming down the mountains that I will post tomorrow.
There are quite a few rigs here, but we don't get to start parking until noon tomorrow. More tomorrow. |
