Andrew said Chevy never sold any Camaro's with 9". To my knowledge a Nascrap is about as far from a real Chevy as funny car is.

Also everyone complains about how wide the camaro is. Everyone does realize it's similar in width to the stang and narrower and shorter than the challenger right?

And their Cd (Coefficient of Drag) numbers are comparable as well but go back to Toby's video of INDY SS class where Martel's Camaro is running. Looks like a school bus going down the track.

Fantastic!! Bringing up cd numbers. Well well then. It is here where we learn that our eyes are not always as trained to actual frontal area as we might like to believe.

Camaro Cd 0.36 SS Cd 0.35
Mustang Cd 0.38
Challenger Cd 0.35

All of them are not very good.

Wow! I'm surprised the Challeneger is as good as it is compared to the others. The recessed grille was a big handicap on '68-'69 Chargers which led to the Daytonas and Superbirds in NASCAR.

It was also said that the blunt-nose Oldsmobiles from 10 or 15 years ago (?) were more aerodynamic than the sleek-looking Firebirds and Camaros.

For what it's worth, while I don't care for the Ford 9" "style" rears in Mopars or Chevies, at least it's keeping the aftermarket companies going!

I remember this topic(cd) coming up a few years ago when top stock was the big topic. Matt Morgan showed the cd on several cars running at the time and they all were about the same, new to old. Until you hit 140 mph you would not see any benefit from the body. Back then 130 to 135 mph was it.

Now its ?????

Looks like these are the numbers:
75.50 inches wide for the chevy camaro
75.70 inches wide for the dodge challenger
73.90 inches wide for the ford mustang

They all take up a lot of room in the trailer. I open the door to get in & out, turn sideways to walk past the car. As trim as I am, I would have to winch any of those in & out of my trailer. A small guy may not have to.
