Well they sent the Top Sportsmen cars back, then ran Stock and Super Stock. I guess the track was unsafe for them, but fine for stock and superstock.

I heard that the reason they DQ'd Interlacchia was that he refused to tear down for the record. Wouldn't that be a year off? or are west coast rules different?

He did the tear down. 5 hours later they tell him the throttle body measured wrong. Right part, right part number. He was ready for the tear down. He wanted the record.
He isn't cheating.

J/SA - 1/8 mile index = 7.94 sea level @ LV = 8.08

K/SA - 1/8 mile index = 8.05 sea level @ LV = 8.19

Bob, out of NHRA rule book....In a sport where records play such a
vital role, every effort is made to maintain their accuracy and
validity. In order to ensure the validity of all new records, a backup
performance of within 1 percent of the new mark is required at the
same event. In the event that two runs exceed the existing record
but are not within 1 percent of each other, the quicker time or faster
speed will be acceptable as the backup for the slower time, which
will stand as the new record...... Hence the slower time 10.23 is the record, plus factor ( should be 10.04). This one is for "Drooze". Still having fun though.

Jeff did indeed tear down but I haven't heard why he was DQed.
