stock for a couple of years. We have a car that can run the same class and

could contend for that record so we have no reason to go easy on him.

That being said....... I would bet the Family Jewels (Such as still remain)

That there absolutely was NO INTENT for Jeff to deliberately cheat. We

Know the man and believe in his character. He is pretty new to stock and

working very hard to compete and made a" Newbie mistake" by not

measuring the throttle body. My boy helped him tear it down and confirmed

that the body was OEM and NOT modified in any way from stock. Of course

it should get him bounced still, but he will get it right next time and learned a

from the experience. Jeff is a smart guy and will learn from his experience

some more about stock eliminator. I am happy that we have at least a few

new racers in stock to enrich the Gene Pool.

We own about 20 Race Thermoquads and I am guilty of not measuring a lot

of them if they visually are unmodified and throttle blades are stock size. The

only time they are measured is in teardown when Bruce or another tech

measures at it.

So it could have been me that got bounced and I should know better as I

have been doing this a darn long time........I will spend some time in the

off season measuring all of mine.

DON'T LET THE CRITICS GET YOU DOWN....YOU ARE REALLY DOING

WELL WITH YOUR CAR!!!
Thanks John, and I always appreciate the help and support from you and your sons. You have done well raising them.

Well we are sitting at a rest area in Texas where we stopped to avoid running into tornados and hail. As we left Amarillo, there was hail and rain and we turned the weather radio on and found out that the Walmart that we had planned on staying at tonight in Elk City, OK had been hit with 90 mph winds and hail and there are tornado warnings all around. So we stopped at a rest area and Larry went in and found out that they have 2 tornado shelters in there. So I guess I will sleep with my clothes on tonight, just in case. Keith and Tonya Lynch and Paul Dilcher are behind us in about Amarillo. Hopefully they are stopping for the night there.

Willy Buck the steak is 72 oz.

Jeff, I think you will own the record. It sounds to me that NHRA's paper work is not up to date. You have a very good car.

Thanks Larry, and I hope that is the case and this all gets ironed out. Looking forward to meeting you some time at the races, and maybe we can laugh about this whole issue. Be safe driving home. Sounds like an adventure.

Well when we left OK a month ago, it was raining and it is raining again here in OK. Just been driving down the road. Oh, BTW, Larry fired me as tour guide after lunch today. We stopped for a buffet in Hinton, OK at the Sugar Creek Casino. Thought we could get some vegetables, plenty of truck parking. Well, Mike Rice must have been in charge of this buffet! Poorly run and bad food is the best I can say about it! Mark this one off your list.

That didn't work so well for Artie when NHRA told him his completely bone stock straight from the junkyard turbo was too big, or when Griffith lost a World Championship from having a complete bone stock out of the box OEM replacement AC Delco cylinder head on his Cavalier that was legalized a couple weeks after he was tossed, or when Himes was tossed from Indy because his cylinder heads "looked TOO stock" and was later determined that they looked stock because they were... STOCK.

It's obvious you didn't do anything intentionally wrong, but by the book, I can't see them allowing the record retroactively. But I know you'll come back and set the record again to their satisfaction, and maybe feel a little vindication. Good luck,
