Looking at my SCTA -Land Speed Racing 2011 Rule book-All belts shall be in good condition and have a manufacturer's tag with legible date not more than 5 years old on the label.
I saw a few 400 mph runs and a boat load of 300 mph runs at Bonneville this year. Phil

If NHRA (not sure about IHRA rules) really wanted to help the little guy out, raise the year limit on belts and nets to 5 yrs or so.

Even an extension to 4 years would be a help. Yes I know it only costs
so much to get them re-certified, but add that to everyother item plus the $$ grab from NHRA for membership, entry fees for each race and the "little" guy can only afford so much........... I made the mistake of buying my seat belts too soon, then ran into other problems with the car and just life and the car is not finished and the belts are now out of date......

Phil,
I've made that mistake more than once! Lesson learned, the LAST thing I do is take care of belt purchase or recert.
