442,
Can't blame IHRA only the racers. In fact I think all classes were up over last year except SS which was about the same. I did'nt go could'nt get away from work. Chip |

Well... There would have been one more Super Stocker there had I been able to get away from work...
As Chip said, the racers are the only ones to blame. Low car count at Immokolee, but there will probably be 50 - 60 Super Stockers at Orlando this coming week... Doesn't make any sense to me. A few years back, I was talking to Jim Harrington about Immokolee. He told me that the Immokolee is the race of the year to go to. The rest of the season just goes down hill from there. I hope I can get there before the race goes away... Jeff Jewell |

Ralph fed us all with barbecue Saturday night, then churned up a big batch of homemade ice cream Sunday. It's a party, with a couple of races thrown in.

I want to thank Ralph Hester and all the IHRA crew for a real good time in Immokalee. Nice way to start off the season. Yes I did record a nice .0000 RT for my first pass of the season, but as Billy said, It's all downhill from here. Lost to John Boyer day 1, and to Myron Piatek day 2. Looks like you have to go through me to the winners circle.
Thanks to Michael Beard for the Moss4U design and decals. Racers suggested that I paint moss in the cracks of my paint scheme at each race until it's all covered in green. You guys are hilarious. Got a great unique picture of the car from Bryan Epps, thank you. Met some new racers too. Now it's time for Orlando divisional, yippee, another fun time ahead. See ya all there.. Ron Ortiz U/SA I'm in the "mood" to race

Pics...
The GEICO car's not a Super Stocker, but it was begging for the caption, "Can 6.40 seconds really save me 15% or more on car insurance?"

Look at NHRA Div. 2 LODRS @ Bradenton qualifying from last year... only 9 Super Stockers from FL, 3 GA, 3 AL (15 cars from 3 states). Stockers: 16 FL, 10 GA, 1 AL (27 cars from 3 states)... These races live on travelers. Scheduling and ever-rising fuel prices are going to hamper growth. Fact is, there are only so many cars in that region that are ready, willing, and able that early in the year and with that many back-to-back-to-back weekends on the schedule. People are going to pick and choose races.
