Chad beat me to it. There are differences in throttle-stop timing to run 5.70 1/8 mile and 8.90 1/4 mile. If I can find an example, I'll post it.
*edit* From the Div 4 LODRS, they are running 1/4 mile there at Houston.. Three Super Gas cars just ran. Their Indexes are 6.30 and 9.90. The three cars just ran 6.892/9.873; 6.975/9.894; 6.815/9.939. Oh, and a Super Comp (5.70 and 8.90) just ran 6.129 and 8.900. Different setting to run the two Indexes, based on 1/8 mile race vs 1/4 mile race; hence the need for an additional time trial. Then again, if they dropped the silly timers and stuff from the cars, there'd be no need for additional time trials. That should get me flamed...

But for a lot of stock and super stock there are differences when dealing with this kind of weather changes as well... EVERYONE should be able to get ONE run at least.. not 2 or three to certain classes... if they have time to have that many runs then everyone could have had at least 1 with no issues... its not our fault that we race without a computer... we should not be penalized for them having to rely on one.. make them guess about it for once.. we are always the ones that get the raw end of the deal when it comes to time runs..

Mike here's your example in sc big mph car will probably run way slower than 5.70 st the 1/8 to run 8.90 and a low mph car will run way faster than 5.70 to run 8.90

I get that they need it for throttle stops but EVERYONE should be given ONE... that would have been fair.. given the situations with weather..
I know super street got more than one... why? That makes no sense.. Why one category over another.. stock and super stock will not get ANY today.... one would have been better than none.. Last edited by FlyingW; 03-04-2012 at 03:39 PM. |

It is sunday afternoon, lets get the show on the road. Another time run for SS and stk would have just put them further behind than they already were. As the mad Hawaiian said everyone is in the same boat, its not like half of SS and half of Stk got a run and you were one of the ones that didn't. Weather delays suck but making them even longer by adding time runs sucks even more!

Did the .90 classes even get a run yesterday? If not, it makes perfect sense that they should get a run today, especially since it was changed to eighth mile.
It looks like the race will probably be finished tomorrow anyway, and what Brad said. -Toby |
