The overall production numbers for the 1965 426-S 'Street Wedge'.
Plymouth = 4469 Belvedere, Belvedere II and Satellite Dodge = 2100 Coronet, Coronet Deluxe, Coronet 440 and Coronet 500 These cars were not abundant, and by 1969, very few were running at the Drag Strips. For NHRA Stock Class, they had a hard time; only 10.3-1 compression ratio, small exhaust port heads, mild hydraulic camshaft, mid-range pressure valve springs, poor-flowing intake manifold, and under-sized 575 CFM Carter AFB carburetor. No match for the 1967 thru 1969 'Super Commando' 440/375 HP Mopars. Last edited by Paul Ceasrine; 04-17-2012 at 04:26 PM. |
