I remember this thread and saw this car coming to auction. Wonder what it will bring.

The Mecum's Spring Classic Auction is the best musclecar exhibition I have ever attended. It will be held May 15-20, 2012 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in downtown Indianapolis.

Only from a Mopar guy. It's a Corvette with an L88 motor. Aluminum heads, 600 lift cam , 12.5 to 1 compression, 850 Holley and 427 cubic inches.

Hey, I have one of those 850's, NHRA says it goes on my '67 Shelby. If the Vette is worth $610K my carb should be worth at least $2K. LOL

That's funny because the '69 427 L88 Corvette only came in at number #16 on this 50 fastest muscle cars list...and to bad they didn't include the '68 Hemi Darts & '68 Hemi Barracuda's with cross-ram race hemi's, or some of the other cars produced by Yenko or Baldwin Motion, etc...and yes the L88 was a race motor in a production car, and so were all the others...and yeah the 427 Cobra was a soccer moms car.

They should have tested a 4 speed one. And if gm had put 2x4s on it, there would be a l88 shoot out
