I've been using the Red Top's in just about everything I own since 2003 with no major issues. As Tom said, just follow the proper charging procedure and you should get good service out of the Optima batteries.
You also might want to look into the new charger that Optima is supposed to bring out this summer, as it may add some life to the batteries you have. Lew
