Why you ask?
Go to Drag Race Central and check out the dismal support that San Antonio got for their race, and you'll have your answer...somehow I feel D1 racers will (no matter how some are only loyal to the NHRA), support a race like this better than D4 did. I'm just anxious to find out by how much? I agree with Ken, and their race wasn't close to my home, however I also knew that there was no other race within that range of my home that was putting up $5k for only a $200 entry fee. When I posted my thread about the San Antonio race, there were some who thought I was crazy for traveling 2400 miles round trip (but it just showed how little they were paying attention to what I wrote, because I said I traveled 1,000 miles one-way, so where did the other 400 miles come from?), but the 2008 (actual) miles I DID travel were worth it for a chance at that kind of money, and I only needed to win 3 more rounds to get it (most NHRA races on that level), you have to win 5-7rnds to get to their winners circle, and the only hope you have of matching the money IHRA posted, is by having all kinds of decals plastered over your car....race one of these events, and you can win the same kind of money, and showcase more car and less decals! Since Maryland isn't that far north of North Carolina ( in comparison to San Antonio from Phoenix), they might actually get some North Carolina racers there? Which would make it even cooler to notice....

I hope MOTHER NATURE is a little nicer to us weather wize as its been blistering here for the last several days. So the big question is WHO is coming ? Sound off here Cal HR1177 |

I went last year so I don't see no reason to miss this one.

I'll be looking forward to reading on Drag Race Central, how many of you do show up there, and how much more successful that race will be than the first 2012 spectacular was. I just read the highlights from that race in the most recent D.R.M., and they sure wrote it up better than it actually was, but since IHRA is a "FOR PROFIT", sanctioning body, they try harder to provide a better product for the money, and more economy friendly money at that....I wish the other HRA would get a clue about that, but I'm already looking forward to next year, with the hopes that D7 will have it's own "Pro-Am" points series, like you guys in the east have enjoyed for decades?
I wish all of you going to Maryland good, safe, and fun racing, and that your travels and the weather cooperate with completion of the race as well!!!
