Very hot weather expected on thursday... Maximum temperatures will reach or slightly exceed 100 degrees for the majority of northern illinois and northwest indiana on thursday. Dewpoints will also be high... Making it feel like 100 to 110 degrees outdoors. To minimize the threat of excessive heat exposure... Take frequent breaks during any strenuous outdoor activity... Preferably in an air-conditioned location. If possible reschedule these activities during the cooler early morning or evening hours. Stay hydrated with non- alcoholic fluids... Preferably water... And wear light fitting loose clothes. Provide shelter from the sun and water for pets. Do not leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle... Even for a minute. |

Yes, it is supposed to be over 100 on Thurs, but at home it is going to be 102-104 from Thurs until Monday. At least it is only 90's the rest of the weekend.
If you are coming up from the south on I-57 and you get off at exit 327, there is a bridge out and a detour, but just follow the detour. It is not out of the way at all and no problem. The competitor parking area is marked very well. You DO NOT get off on Schweitzer Road. You go to Larraway and come in Gate 4. It is all very well marked. They have not parked anybody yet. The schedule shows to begin at 10. There are lots of people already here. Looks like it will be mid afternoon before we get in with all that is ahead of us. At least I don't have to get up early! |

We are here too!!!! YAY!!!
We are with Tony's car only, but looking forward to seeing everyone with our extra free time having to run just one car. Hope to have time to take some pictures as well. Don't know how much 'reporting of news' I can contribute as I will be glued to Alex's side (whether he likes it or not! LOL) but I am sure we will get some juicy gossip from someone! |
