Brian Oaks pulled his trailer down to my house in cincinnati from the east coast with his motorhome and when he backed it into my driveway his hitch broke loose on the motorhome and fell onto the ground. He was really lucky it didnt happen on the inrterstate.
From then on I always checked my regularly. I hope Jackies car is okay.

First off--glad to hear no-one got hurt and the trailer stayed upright.

I had a similar trailer hitch incident in 2008.
I was at Beech Bend and on Sunday I hitched up the camper trailer to go home and heard some weird popping noises while lowering the tongue onto the ball.
Didn't think much about the popping and finished chaining up --then went into the camper.
20 minutes later I came out and saw the trailer pointing downward. (stress cracks--see pics)

I got lucky nothing happened going down the road.

I now buy the largest hitch I can for my trucks...a few bucks more is worth it.
Tip:...check for cracks with the trailer hitched up and loaded.

Also glad things weren't worse and other than a big scare everything and everyone is okay but without having any details have to wonder why the safety chains didn't contain the trailer.

Looks like it was on I-76 in Denver. That is the worst road in the country. The road has giant woop de do's. Its no wonder it came loose. Everytime I go that way I am afraid of my stuff breaking too.
